Hello, I'm Elia!

As a photographer, I am excited by the power of photographs and how, through expression of individuality and personal worldviews, they affect people, as well as the immense impact of photography as a medium of mass communication and global connectivity.

I strive to understand my own subjectivity, firstly, to be aware of how it shapes the perspective and image of the people and places I represent. As part of my method, I cooperate with my subjects to create positive depictions of them, from beginning to end and thereafter, committed to investing the time and energy required to make their experience as enjoyable as possible. I make myself vulnerable and thus share the risk I ask others to experience, exploring alternative ways to be present with a camera and consent to be photographed.

My abilities lie particularly in composition and detailed analysis, I aim to create detailed work that matters, pushes boundaries, and connects with its audience on a broader scale. I relish the creative process of finding strategies to overcome structural obstacles as I use my technical and innovative skills to achieve my goals, leaving a pathway others might follow.
